New Beginnings Doula Training is hosting an online webinar from AWHONN (the Association for Women’s Health, Obstetrics, and Neonatal Nursing) entitled “Nursing Care and Management of Second Stage of Labor.” This webinar covers current evidence-based information about the benefits of upright positioning and delayed and non-directed pushing. Additionally, strategies for implementation of these techniques are presented in the webinar.

From AWHONN’s website:

Upon completion of this 75-minute presentation, you should be able to:

  • Define the second stage of labor.
  • Provide physical, emotional, instructional and psychosocial supportive care to women and their families during the second stage of labor
  • Facilitate alternative positioning and non-directed pushing techniques based on current evidence
  • Evaluate and respond to the physiologic and psychologic processes occurring during the second stage of labor
  • Describe strategies that facilitate implementation of evidence-based positioning and pushing techniques.

Presented by AWHONN and Joyce Roberts, CNM, PhD, FACNM, FAAN. Dr. Roberts is a former Professor of Nursing and in the School of Medicine, Dept of OB/GYN at the University of Michigan and former President of the American College of Nurse Midwives.

We would like to provide this webinar to our students, alumni, and other interested individuals, available for viewing on-demand for 30 days.  To be able to do this, we need to have  at least  11 participants to register for the webinar  for us to cover the cost of group registration. Once we meet the minimum threshold, we will order the webinar. Those that have signed up by that point will have 30 days to view the webinar. Registration will remain open until the 30 days have passed, but those that sign up after we open up the webinar will not have a full 30 days, but only the time remaining from the time that we complete the group registration.

We have already met our minimum registration quota of 11 participants and were able to sign up for group registration on October 7th. The viewing window will remain open through November 6th, 2014 (30 days).  Registration will remain open to view the webinar until November 1, 2014.

    HI:
I was wondering if $20 is the discount price?
    Thanks

I know I already responded in private, but yes, the list price for the webinar is $40. Currently registered students and alumni of New Beginnings Doula Training only pay $20, while non-students only pay $30.

Jenny, you should have received your link a couple of hours after you paid for your course.

After you pay for the webinar, whether you are a student or a non-student, we have to manually send you the login information via email. We send it to the email address associated with your PayPal account. This is not an automated process, and so if sign up early in the morning, for example, whenever we get around to checking our emails is when you’ll get your login link, etc.

      Thanks!
