Doula Student Incentives for Course Progress and Payments

Birth Matters book coverLast month, we began to implement a registration cap on new students signing up for the program. This was both to encourage the quality of students signing up for the program, as well as to limit the demands on our time as the course continues to grow in popularity. This month we are tackling the challenge of encourage our students who have signed up for the course to continue with the program.  In a simple effort to address this challenge, we are introducing student incentives.

We did this once in the past, where students, who made their monthly payments before the end of the month and also submitted at least one assignment, would then qualify for the student incentive. Now, we have a good number of our students who are making great strides without our incentives program. However, we would like to see more students make it through the training materials, so we hope that this may be a small catalyst for them to move forward.

So here’s how it works. To qualify to participate in our incentives program, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. You must be a current student of our birth doula training program.
  2. You must be current on your payments (If you’ve paid for the course in full upfront then you’ve already got this covered!)
  3. You must submit an assignment within the calendar month for which the incentive is being offered. It does NOT have to be graded by the end of the month, only submitted.

That’s it! If you’ve met these qualification then you can submit your name to participate in the monthly incentive.  A quick link will also be placed on the student dashboard also to provide students with easy access to the incentives page.

We are still playing around with what kind of promotions we can afford to offer as a part of our incentive program, but we’ve talked about conducting raffles for books, doula supplies, etc., allowing group access to digital resources such as paid webinars, handouts, or other resources.

Moving forward, monthly incentives will be announced during the first week of the month. Check the student incentives page for full details.

For our first month’s incentive, we are going to hold a raffle drawing for one (1) copy of  Ina May Gaskin’s book, Birth Matters: A Midwife’s Manifesta. The selected recipient will receive a copy of the book, in either print or digital format. To participate in this month’s incentive, visit the student incentives page.
