I love music.  Music has a way of bringing me peace that nothing else can, and I even sang at one of my children’s births as a way to work through my contractions.  Research has verified the ability of music to decrease our perception of pain in labor (Hosseini, 2013), and maybe even have positive effects on the newborn (Tabarro, 2010).  So if you want to see if it works for you give it a try.  Below are five videos of singing during labor (ok, one is the piano) to help give you inspiration.
