Because doulas are not medically trained personnel, certification is not required to work as a doula.  Anyone can work as a doula regardless of whether or not they have been certified to do so.  What a certification course such as New Beginnings Doula Training offers is the knowledge that you have received a good education for both you and your clients.

The New Beginnings Doula Training, which is design to take approximately nine months to complete,  provides you with a more robust and comprehensive training than do better known organizations, such as DONA (which has been confirmed to us by DONA certified doulas). Because DONA is better known, certification through DONA may or may not be more accepted in certain situations.

If you are considering working alone, New Beginnings Doula Training will prepare you to act as a competent and professional doula. Such training and experience is accepted anywhere.
