The cost for doula training and certification is $400 USD.  You can re-coup that cost with just one birth.

Payment Options for Doula Training

New Beginnings Doula Training offers comprehensive doula training with three (3) affordable and convenient payment options. These options are as follows:

  • Option 1 – $400 USD / one-time payment for full course access up front.
  • Option 2 – $34 USD / automated payments for 12 months, incremental course access.
  • Option 3 – $36 USD / invoiced, manual payments for 12 months, incremental course access.

Each of the three payment option allows you to start your training immediately after making your first payment. With Options 2 & 3, access to all course materials are provided in increments or sections. As you make more payments or as you complete assignments, you are granted access to the necessary course materials.

When selecting a payment plan, all payments must be made, or the course must be paid off in full, before your certificate can be issued. Your training timeframe is valid for two (2) years from the date of your registration.

Are There Any Additional Costs to Becoming a Doula?

Additional Costs for Doula Training - Three Required Books, about $45 USDWith New Beginning Doula Training, the only additional costs outside of the cost of registration, are in the purchase of the three required books that must be purchased separately. These three books are “The Birth Partner” by Penny Simkins, “Home Birth in the Hospital” by Stacey Kerr, and “The Nurturing Touch at Birth” by Paulina Perez. These three books can all be ordered online. In the continental U.S., costs for all three books is about $45 USD. Prices may vary based on location.

Besides your books, there are no other costs associated with New Beginnings Doula Training. You don’t pay for your certificate and you don’t pay to attend classes. All materials and instruction are delivered online via the student portal.

What If I Need More Time to Certify, How Much Does that Cost?

New Beginnings Doula Training allows for up to two years to complete your certification. If more time is needed, your course registration may be extended in 6-month increments for $25 USD per extension. Up to four (4) course extensions are permitted, allowing you to extend your registration for up to a total of two (2) additional years at the cost of $100 USD.

How Much Does It Cost to Renew Certification?

Certification is valid for two years from the date of certification issued (printed date on certification). The cost to renew certification is $25 USD, plus the cost of continuing educational units. Re-certification is valid for two (2) years, the same as the original certification. A total of 20 continuing educational units and one birth packet are required to renew your certification. How Much Does New Beginnings Doula Training Costs with a Scholarship?

Though New Beginnings Doula Training is priced competitively on the lower end of available certification programs, we recognize that even still, that price can be beyond the reach of some. To that end, so that doula training may be made as affordable to anyone wanting to receive certification, New Beginnings offers merit-based scholarships. The application process for scholarships is based on performance. If granted a scholarship through New Beginnings, the price of registration is as follows:
