Looking for a way to help women prevent tears and be more comfortable during the pushing stage of labor?  You can get the best of both worlds by using warm compresses.  A recent study found that the risk of 3rd and 4th degree tears decreases by 52% with the use of warm compresses.  So let your clients know that warm compresses help prevent pain and tearing during the second stage of labor.
