Doulas who certify through New Beginnings Doula Training are required to renew their certification every two years. This ensures that doulas stay up-to-date with their skills and current trends in birth. To complete certification renewal, doulas must submit proof of 20 continuing educational credits and a completed birth packet. Additionally, a $50 fee is due.
To complete the certification renewal process, program alumni log in to the student portal and click on the “Certification Renewal” link in the main menu. We provide a list of accepted continuing education credit opportunities. There is also a PayPal link for processing payments and information on how to submit proof of continuing education credits.
To finish the renewal process, you must complete the following three steps:
- Complete 20 continuing education units, provided from the list below, or on other pre-approved websites. Also submit paperwork (in digital format, if possible) demonstrating completion of educational units.
- Complete one (1) birth packet for one birth you attended in the two years previous. We provide paperwork if needed.
- Pay the $50 renewal fee via PayPal.
Upon completion of all four steps, we will issue you a new certificate. You will receive a digital copy via email and your certificate will also be published or updated in the online alumni directory.
